On the 27 th of May 2016, the Ceremony in the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon took place in honour of Mr Jan van Zanen, Mayor of Utrecht. The Ambassador of Japan presented the award to Mr Jan van Zanen for his work as former Mayor of Amstelveen.

Marjon de Jong was invited to attend the ceremony at the residence of the Ambassador of Japan. The picture below shows Jan van Zanen with his ornaments and a work of art which was offered to him by Marjon de Jong. Marjon de Jong gifted a work of art to the Ambassador of Japan as well. The Ambassador placed it next to a picture of him standing next to King Willem-Alexander.
